EAJ stronger in the Basque Country
Last Sunday, Basque and Galician citizens voted respectively for their 75 members of Regional Parliament. EDP member EAJ-PNV and CxG were running.
Our Basque member was one of the big winners of these elections with 3 additional mandates (now 31 seats out of 75) and securing their position as 1st Basque party. This is their best results in 26 years. Unfortunately, our Galician member and its coalition could not reach the electoral threshold in any of the 3 Galician provinces.
Andoni Ortuzar, President of EAJ-PNV pointed out that: ““We have the opportunity to open a new cycle of collaboration with a single objective: the Basque Country and Basque society. A new cycle to emerge from the crisis strengthened. Without leaving anyone behind.”
Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu emphasised that: “The work we must do is huge, but it deserves all our effort because it represents the common good of our society: employment, social cohesion and Self-government" and concluded: "this work needs all hands"
