EDP MEPs tell us why they chose to fight for Europe

"Languages, cultures, regional differences and local initiatives must be cherished because they are Europe’s strongest asset."

Happy 18 Polsko – Solutions for Europe | New "Solutions for Europe" will emerge in Krakow

Solutions for Europe - Poland

Sandro Gozi, Róża Thun, Michał Kobosko are just some of the guests of the conference "Happy 18 Poland", which will be held on 6 May in Cracow. The event is part of the Solutions for Europe pan-European campaign.

It is 18 years since Poland joined the European Union. Today more than ever we need a strong, united Europe, in which Poland has a significant role to play. We face many challenges of an economic and social nature. Poles are showing solidarity towards the ongoing war in Ukraine, but a coherent European policy is needed to achieve peace.

“Whether it is tackling climate change, strengthening our democracies, cherishing cultural differences, making the most of the digital revolution… Democrats want to give innovative ideas centre stage. Through the “Solutions for Europe” campaign, we want to promote a citizens-oriented approach from the ground up. We want to highlight local success stories and good practices. European parties should give citizens a voice and spread the numerous innovative ideas that we already benefit from at regional and local levels.”, says Sandro Gozi MEP, and Secretary General of the European Democratic Party.

The Kraków conference will focus on four key issues: Poland's role and future in the European Union, solutions putting citizens at the heart of politics, boosting the green transformation and Europe's place in the world after Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

The following have confirmed their participation in the event: Sandro Gozi, MEP, and Secretary General of the European Democratic Party, Róża Thun, MEP, Michał Kobosko, Vice-President of the Polska 2050 association, Kristina Kallas (Leader of the Eesti 200 party), Frédéric Petit (French MP and Deputy Secretary General of the EDP), Lukáš Kostínek (Senátor 21), Anna Radwan (inEurope), Ewelina Pytel (Committee for the Defense of Democracy), Piotr Gąsiorowski (Polska 2050 Association) and Jan Szyszko (Strategie 2050).
