Better economic and social conditions for the Euroregion Galicia - North Portugal
Our members in Galicia Commitment to Galicia (CxG) and in Portugal the Democratic Republican Party (PDR) have signed a protocol to improve the economic and social conditions of the Euroregion Galicia - North Portugal - European - European area that aims to be a bridge and communication link between Europe, Africa and the Americas.
The signed protocol includes initiatives such as the improvement of rail links - with a high-speed line between Vigo and Porto - or the establishment of air links between different airports that complement rather than compete with each other by facilitating direct connectivity on transatlantic flights without having to go through Madrid-Barajas, which is the current approach of the Spanish airport system, one of the most centralised in the world.
Daniel Lago, Secretary General of CxG, stressed that "We are here to build and make possible this future of fraternity between Galicia and the north of Portugal;
For Bruno Fialho, President of the PDR, the agreement signed today with CxG aims to "build bridges that contribute to the creation of a Euroregion Galicia-North Portugal, improving the quality of life of Portuguese and Galician people".
