With the outbreak of Coronavirus in Europe, the cultural industry is severely impacted by measures to slow down the pandemic. Bookshops, cinemas, theatres, museums and festivals are all at a standstill; their sources of income and cash flow have suddenly come to a halt.

It is suggested by some institutional and cultural actors that no major event can be organised before 2021. All cultural activities bringing together the public, particularly festivals, are facing very great difficulties.
